Mr. Chin asks Mr. Kim to be his wingman on a date but when Mrs. Kim finds out, she tags along. On the date, Mr. Kim finds it harder than he thought to "talk up" Mr. Chin's good points and Mr. Chin doesn't appreciate Mrs. Kim being the life of the party. Meanwhile - knowing that both her parents are out for the evening - Janet asks Jung to come to the store and help her fix a dripping pipe. Jung's "bad feeling" about returning home (even briefly) turns out to be justified when the store is robbed while he's there.
Lonely and single Mr. Chin believes that he may be on the verge of romance when his Russian barber, Illyanka, casually asks him to join her and her friend Natalia one evening on one of their regular nights out to a martini bar. Wanting a fourth to be Natalia's "date", Mr. Chin asks Appa to be his wingman for the outing. Appa agrees. However, Appa slyly trying to get Umma's permission to go out on this "date" has unintended consequences as Umma decides to be a fifth only in her own want for an exciting night out with her husband. Umma and Appa's goals for the evening may be incompatible, at least in one of their minds. With both her parents out for the evening, Janet is given the responsibility of minding the store. Appa tells her that she can try to fix the water leak in the store ceiling - most-likely a loose connection in a water pipe - if she is so inclined, but she under no circumstances is to call in professional help unless she pays for it out of her own pocket. Janet doesn't call in professional help, but help in the form of Jung, who hasn't been back to the store since he was kicked out at age sixteen. Janet and Jung's plans for him to fix the leak and be in and out of the store before their parents arrive home doesn't go quite according to their plan based on external events of the evening.
